CATEGORY MANAGEMENT OFFICER (REF- CPM/OO4)
The Contracts, Procurement and Materials (CPM) Department of NLNG requires a Category Management Officer to work on Bonny Island
The Job
This is a 3rd Party Contract Staff Position
Purpose
· To align Contractor/Supplier capabilities and performance information with their areas of specialization.
· To assist in implementing sound product category strategies that will promote competitive cost, quality delivery e.t.c.
· To achieve complexity reduction and revenue-loss mitigation on buying information due to wrong specification, poor quality of Vendors’ performances vis-à-vis wrong deliveries.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would amongst others:
§ Provides accurate spend data for purpose of determining appropriate procurement strategy for each product category.
§ Provides Supplier spend & performance information for optimizing suppliers’ capabilities in preferred areas.
§ Identify supplier capabilities in each category and place in appropriate main and sub-product groups as applicable.
§ To standardize and update product/work categories changes in line with the requirements of the Vendor Management System.
§ To enhance cross-functional accessibility of products/work category information for appropriate vendor selection.
§ To create appropriate links to approved product category/vendors of associate companies, (e.g Shell); leveraging networks of suppliers and contractors.
§ To enhance benchmarking of suppliers in specialized categories for achieving competitive cost, quality, delivery and overall value from suppliers and contactors.
§ Apply the Cost / Risk Complexity Matrix to analyze Suppliers / Contractors into supply grades for determining appropriate sourcing strategies in the vendor selection process.
§ Explore all available plant equipment and spares and liaise with the Plant Engineers to define appropriate product categories for mapping suppliers accordingly, using the procurement targeting concept.
§ Extract ‘Scope of Business’ information from pre-qualification reports and upload into the Vendor Management System (VMS) with all relevant sourcing details.
§ Serve as focal person for all upload, download and maintenance update of the Vendor Management System (VMS) module in PACER
§ Download, analyze, and manage data from the NLNG Suppliers/Contractor registration web portal; sort, collate and categorize accordingly; carry out frequent maintenance update and alignment with technical specifications of spares in the Vendor Management System.
Qualifications and experience required:
§ Minimum of 2nd Class Lower in B.Sc. Mechanical or Plant Engineering or Statistics with 3-4 years post graduation experience.
§ Must have knowledge of the procurement and contracting processes, and a working knowledge of plant materials and product groups in the oil and gas industry or a typical manufacturing company.
§ Not more than 35 years of Age.
